For the last term, some pupils have been taking part in an after school drama club. Pupils in Years 3-6 have been working incredibly hard to put together a performance to show to their peers and parents. Thursday and Friday were their final performances of ‘Oliver Twist’. The children did themselves very proud, telling the story, singing their songs and entertaining the audiences.
One child said
‘I loved watching the performance, all the acting was really good!’.
One parent commented how they had a ‘tear to their eye’ during the ending scene when Oliver was reunited with his long-lost relative.
The drama club has been working on developing skills in all sorts of areas to help put on the final show. They have worked on confidence, projecting their voices to ensure they can be heard and teamwork to put on a brilliant show. Shamira, Year 5 said she has loved the drama group as she ‘enjoyed all year groups coming together to sing and show everyone in the school’. Jess, Year 5 said
‘The new skills learnt are invaluable and it has been lovely gaining new experiences’.
We have to thank Miss Watts, Mrs Watts, Miss Green and Mrs Miles for all of their hardwork and dedication to put this show together! We cannot wait to see what they produce next term.
